Drum Motors Unit Handling

Rulmeca Drum motors is the ideal system for the drive of belt conveyors. Being composed of a motor, bearings and gearbox hermetically enclosed inside the casing, it is partially filled with oil that acts as lubricant and refrigerant to dissipate away the heat through the shell and the belt conveyor.

They are used with a crowned shell for standard belts of PVC, Polyurethane etc.

They are also used more and more for conveyors with plastic belts and modular or positively driven belts; for these applications the shell is cylindrical or flat, with profiled lagging or special sprockets.

They can be also used in non-belt applications, utilizing de-rated motors and cylindrical or flat shells.The Rulmeca Drum Motors have many options such as: rubber lagging, integrated encoders, electromagnetic brakes and frequency converters: all certified according to CE directive.
